I was born into a military family so moving is in my blood. I enjoy visiting new areas and appreciating different cultures. I travel as much as possible, and never without my camera since many of my photographs provide ideas and inspiration for my work.

I continue to grow artistically with every project and I am constantly discovering new paper, pencils, and techniques. Although I have tried other mediums, I will always love graphite and charcoal. Sometimes I feel like I can see the world in degrees of light and shadow, enjoying the gradation of grays.

I am a happily retired forensic artist and scientist. After thirty years of working for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, I was anxious to start a new life in a new place. In 2014 I moved to beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado, an artist’s paradise. Looking at the mountains and watching the wildlife are my inspiration and the source of much of my daily enjoyment. I love watching the abundance and different types of birds that visit my feeders (hung on a pulley system so Mr. Bear can’t indulge) and the many animals that migrate through. I try to keep my camera on ready so I don’t miss the occasional moose or ermine.
